With the Senate’s approval on Tuesday, an aid package worth a staggering $95 billion has been secured. This comprehensive package allocates a substantial $61 billion to support Ukraine, demonstrating our commitment to their stability and prosperity.
Additionally, $26 billion has been designated to provide crucial assistance to Israel, reaffirming our unwavering support for our ally in the region.
Furthermore, $8 billion has been allocated to the Indo-Pacific, reflecting our dedication to fostering strong partnerships and promoting growth in this vital region.
As part of the package, there is a bill that may result in the prohibition of TikTok in the United States. This bill gives Chinese parent company ByteDance approximately nine months to sell the app, otherwise it will be removed from app stores in the United States.
The aid package was finally signed after months of intense negotiations, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky personally lobbying for it. The split in the House Republican conference still poses a threat to House Speaker Mike Johnson’s leadership position.
