He acknowledged that he had been playing “nice golf” for some time, but said he would need to shoot a low round on Sunday, May 5, in order to win the PGA Tour tournament.

On the fifth and sixth holes in the third round of the competition on Saturday, Pendrith made two consecutive eagles. He began the round with a bogey-free round to take the lead.

What has been Taylor Pendrith’s performance thus far at the Byron Nelson CJ Cup?

On Thursday, May 2, Taylor Pendrith opened his game at The CJ Cup Byron Nelson event by playing a round devoid of bogeys. He began at the first tee and made two straight birdies on the fourth and fifth holes.

Pendrith proceeded to make four more birdies on the back nine after adding another birdie on the ninth. Finally, he finished with a 7-under 64.

Pendrith struggled on the front nine of the second round, making two bogeys on the 15th and 17th holes. On the other hand, he played quite well on the back nine, making five straight birdies from the fifth to the ninth hole. Pendrith’s final score for the day was 4-under 67.

He continued his bogey-free play in the third round, finishing with three birdies and two eagles for an 8-under 63 total.

Starting at 9 a.m. ET, the final round of the 2024 CJ Cup Byron Nelson will see Adam Scott, Jorge Compillo, and Maverick McNealy take the first shot of the day on the first tee, followed by Taiga Semikawa, Mark Hubbard, and Dylan Wu on the tenth hole.

At 11:00 a.m. ET on Sunday, Taylor Pendrith will take the first shot on the course. He’ll be paired alongside Ben Kohles and Jake Knapp.
