Luka Doncic

The NBA season is coming to an end, and tonight’s game against the Golden State Warriors will see the Dallas Mavericks without Luka Doncic.

The matchup between the two Western Conference teams tonight will be their last encounter. The Mavs will, however, have to play with a depleted roster.

This season, Doncic has been playing like an MVP, helping the team finish in fifth place in the conference rankings. Throughout his 67 games this season, the five-time All-Star has averaged 33.8 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 9.8 assists. The Slovenian is ranked second on NBA.com’s most recent MVP ladder.

But tonight he’s listed out because of knee pain, so he won’t be playing. Doncic will miss his tenth game of the season with this injury.

In 11 attempts, he converted five 3-pointers. His efforts, though, were insufficient to help Dallas defeat Steph Curry and company.

Josh Green (knee, out), Dereck Lively II (knee, out), and Maxi Kleber (back, uncertain) are the other Mavericks players listed on the injury report.

Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, and Gary Payton II are all considered questionable for the Warriors. Big guy Dario Saric of Croatia is still not on the squad.

While Doncic is sidelined, Kyrie Irving will lead the club and carry the majority of the heavy lifting.
